Located in the heart of central Virginia, Monument Heights is strategically placed to reach out to more than 70,000 internationals from across the world. We seek to help internationals grow in the love, grace, and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ by building relationships that minister to their educational, physical, and emotional needs. Below is a sampling of the activities and ministries that are designed to reach internationals.

Our English Language School started in 2002 to share the love of Jesus by reaching out into the community to help others. The school has grown steadily since its beginning. The school’s staff are mostly members of Monument Heights Baptist Church; however, we are also blessed to have staff members from other area churches and/or neighborhoods.
The program is a ministry lovingly supported financially and prayerfully by the congregation. All of the services of the school are free of charge to its students except for the yearly registration fee of $10 per ELS adult student.
- All classes are FREE, but there is a ten dollar registration fee for each adult student. Students may keep their textbooks at the end of the year.
- We have OPEN REGISTRATION. This means students can register at any time during the school year.
- We have classes for everyone from non-English speaking students through advanced English-speaking students.
The ELS school traditionally holds classes on Tuesday nights from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM from September -April. They follow the schedule of the Henrico County Public School System and are off for the very same holidays for winter and spring breaks. In the case of inclement weather, the English Language School cancels class if Henrico County School system cancels class for that day.

International Community Church
We are excited to support the International Community Church and be the host site for “First Sunday” and the Better Home Club.
“First Sundays” are monthly gatherings to worship God and fellowship with one another. Unless otherwise noted, it is held at 2 PM in the Monument Heights Fellowship Hall located at the lower rear entrance on Grace Street. Afterwards, there is a shared agape meal, and the rest of the afternoon is spent enjoying fun and interactive activities together.
Better Home Club is a Cambodian (Khmer) group speaking Khmer, the group’s heart language. English, French, Chinese, and Vietnamese are also spoken among our bi-racial families. Contact the church for more information about specific home locations.
