How do I become a member of Monument Heights Baptist Church?
Our church welcomes people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Joining a church, however, is an important commitment. We require an individual to accept and confess Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior in order to join our fellowship.
Prospective new members must present themselves at the conclusion of a worship service in one of the following ways:
- As a candidate for baptisim. We baptize by immersion.
- By transfer of letter from another Baptist church. We will ask your previous church to send us a letter indicating that you are a member in good standing. Your membership with that church will then transfer to Monument Heights.
- By statement of your faith. Upon statement of your Christian experience in a church that is no longer in existence or not Baptist, we will welcome you and baptize you by immersion if you have not previously been immersed.
New Member Orientation
Monument Heights offers a small group experience for new folks. Seekers are welcome too! Even if Christianity is new to you, we invite you to come and experience this small group learning opportunity.
This class is led by our pastor, Dr. Randy Clipp, and is held over the course of nine weeks. Through the New Member Orientation class, participants learn more about our church’s history, the basic teachings of Christianity, the meaning of baptism and Lord’s Supper, and learn new strategies for prayer. The class culminates with a spiritual gifts inventory which helps believers discover their God given gifts and potential places for service.
The New Member Orientation class is held on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 AM during our Bible Study time. The number of participants for this class is limited so that you can get to know the pastor and have in-depth discussions with him and others about faith and spirituality. In addition to providing opportunities for spiritual growth, the small group experience fosters friendship with other believers as well.
Childcare will be provided. The time of the classes is concurrent with Sunday School so that other members of your family can find a Bible study class as well.
Please contact Dr. Randy Clipp at 804-285-3256 to find out more or to sign up for the next session.
