At Monument Heights Baptist Church, we welcome people of all ethnic backgrounds and ages to participate in our activities and worship services. If you are a believer or a seeker, broken or have been made new, lost or have been found, we invite you to join us for worship. You will find an array of dress styles. Whether it is business attire or casual, please do not stress over how you dress. You are welcome as you are.
On Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM, members and visitors meet in small groups for Bible study led by church members who serve as Sunday School teachers. At the main door, greeters welcome everyone and direct visitors to the appropriate classes.
Following Bible study, we gather in the sanctuary, where we worship at 11 AM through prayer, song, and Biblical message. Our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Christian fellowship. We welcome visitors and invite you to worship with us.
Monument Heights has a traditional worship service which also blends contemporary elements. Using a variety of sacred music styles, we use hymns accompanied by piano and organ as well as fresh, contemporary arrangements. Our pastor, Dr. Clipp, preaches sermons designed to relate to our own, everyday lives. He delivers the Word of God using both narrative and exegetical methods. Energetic and enthusiastic, he often enhances the message by singing. On the first Sunday of every month we conclude our service by celebrating the Lord’s Supper. If you have accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, we encourage you to participate with us. Please note we do have hearing devices available in our church library on Sunday mornings before worship for anyone who may be in need.
We also provide childcare during the worship service for infants through kindergarten in our preschool suite. Children ages four and five are also invited to attend the first portion of worship with their extended session teacher. For the Children’s Message segment during worship, all children are encouraged to come forward for a brief Bible lesson. Afterwards, the older children ages six and over remain to worship with their families, while the four and five year olds are taken back to the preschool suite by their extended session teacher.
At the conclusion of the pastor’s sermon each week, we offer an invitation for church membership. Individuals wanting to become members must accept and confess Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. They present themselves during the invitational hymn at the conclusion of the service. When coming forward, Dr. Clipp will readily welcome you and ask you privately how you would like to join. You may join Monument Heights by one of three ways: by statement of your faith, as a candidate for baptism, or by transfer of letter from another church. After joining the church, Dr. Clipp will invite you to attend a New Member Orientation group to learn more about our church, how to get involved, and how to connect personally with God. Dr. Clipp will be happy to discuss membership with you. If you have any questions, please call him at (804)285-3256.
